COLOMBIA • NAFER DURÁN

Nafer Durán (born in 1932 in El Paso) is one of the last juglares, these minstrels of the Upar Valley (northern Colombia) where, for almost two centuries, the vallenato music has blended Indian, African and European traditions. This album recorded in concert presents a series of compositions by Nafer and other great composers such as Rafael Escalona or his own brother Alejandro Durán in the four rhythms and styles of vallenato: puya, merengue, paseo and son.
