Tâher o Zohre is a jewel of oriental literature, narrating the thwarted romance of a hero and his beloved and the trials they go through before their love can triumph. It is performed in its epic form (dâstân) by Rowshan Golafruz, an inspired artist who belongs to a prestigious line of bards of Khorasan. His passionate voice and virtuosic lute playing bring the characters to life and take us to the heart of a tradition that blends Persian, Turkish and Kurdish cultures.
