INDONESIA • WEST JAVA - TEMBANG SUNDA
Ida Widawati & L. S. Malati Ida
(à modifier dans le module "Réassurance")
The tembang sunda, also called cianjuran, developed during the 19th century in the Court of Cianjur. Then, it spread out in the whole Sunda country and became the classical chamber music of the West Javanese region. The song, supported by the flute, seems to spread out freely on a sonorous rug strictly woven by the zithers. Ida Widawati, one to the four of five prominent Sundanese singers, renders with her group this nostalgic music which evokes the past splendour of the Sunda kingdom and its volcanic landscapes as well as the spleen of a disillusioned love.
