Qawwali is the music of the Sufi mystics in North India and Pakistan, a music which combines the rhythm of the drums and the handclapping with a virtuoso and passionate chanting. Ustad Jafar Husayn Khan (†2006) belonged to a family of reknown traditional musicians of Budaun, a small town of the Uttar Pradesh located on a tributary of the Gange, near Delhi.
