The largest work ever undertaken for the protection of musical heritage: the complete recording of Al-Âla repertory, the classical Arab-andalusian tradition of Morocco which is composed of 11 vocal and instrumental suites, the nûba. This repertoire is completed by two single movements or mîzân, the Quddâm Bawâkir al-Mâya and the Quddâm al-Jdîd. They are performed here by a small orchestra composed of the best musicians who participated in the anthology conducted by Mohammed Briouel, who will be the successor of Abdelkrim Rais as the conductor of the Fes Orchestra in 1996.
