The largest work ever undertaken for the protection of musical heritage: the complete recording of Al-Âla repertory, the classical Arabo-andalusian tradition of Morocco which is composed of 11 vocal and instrumental suites, the nûba. Vocals, rbab, violins, violas, lutes, cello and percussion instruments.
This nûbâ is usually played at dusk. Its majesty is remarkably highlighted by the Tangiers orchestra's interpretation. It contains, among others, a series of songs quite well know among urban milieu under the name of Shams al-'ashiya, “the Evening Sun”.
