The gharnâti music of Morocco is the tradition of Tlemcen (Algeria) which expanded to Oujda, near the border, and also Rabat. A tuneful music, which privileges the solo chanting and evokes the crazy nights in Albaicin. Ahmad Pirou is the most prominent gharnâti musician in Morocco. He renders here his version of the Nûba Ramal, one of the 16 vocal and instrumental suites of the gharnâti répertoire.
